a new way to support individuals and nonprofits in need

The Deron Cherry Charitable Foundation's mission is "Caring for the Kansas City community by supporting local charities". Historically, the foundation has fulfilled its mission by fundraising for and providing fiscal donations to a core group of nonprofit organizations in the Kansas City area on an annual basis.

For over 30 years we have provided much needed funds to local charities in Greater Kansas City Community: Score 1 for Health, Camp Quality of Greater Kansas City, and Answering the Call. While the foundation will continue to support a core group of nonprofit organizations in this manner, we will expand its reach in 2026 to additional nonprofits in the Kansas City Metropolitan area through our Care for KC grant program in which nonprofit organizations may apply to receive funds.
